These are largely mutually exclusive, so their movesets will change a fair bit depending on which path you take. These can get you super armor, new actions, stat increases, and the like.ĭepending on what EX Skills you have equipped, each character will have a tendency toward T or S Techs (AKA Artes). You can slot a limited amount, some of which combine to form new ones. (You can obviously also use it to give yourself more variety of attacks for the character you're controlling if you prefer.)ĮX Skills let you customize what passive benefits each party member has. Don't remember if Zesty had this as well so mentioning it just in case. You know how you have the 4 attack slots to place techs for the character, plus two more on the bottom? Those bottom two can be assigned to ANY character in the party, so you can for example tell Raine to USE RECOVER INSTEAD OF FIRST AID DAMMIT, or force one of your physical attackers to actually do something instead of running around like an idiot. The AI for your party members is really stupid, so I recommend assigning macro commands to force them to do not stupid things. But if you want Para Ball for Colette, it's S type, and Raine only gets mass party heals if she goes T type - although I think her S type attack magic is cooler.) I definitely have my personal recommendations, but honestly for a first playthrough I feel like it's always fun for you to try it out for yourself. (This relates to what others have already mentioned: S- or T- typing your character, based on their EX skills, determines which branch of techs they will learn. This was fixed in later versions of the game. Torrential Para Ball, the "upgraded" version, is literally weaker and costs more TP. Hint: Glory is OP.Īre you playing GC version? If you are, all I will say is Para Ball is broken as fuck and you should use Colette basically all the time. Summons are considered a spell, so it uses the summoner's INT, which for that character is ass.ĮX SKILLS!!!!! EX SKILLLLLLSSSSS!!!!!!!! EX skills will make your party go from "good" to "stupid broken strong." Experiment with combo EX skills or look up a guide, up to you, but this shit will change your life. ![]() as an aside, this is why the summons you get later honestly aren't that great. Some of them will raise INT by, like, two.? Just find the best INT weapons and don't bother upgrading thereafter, because you should literally never be using STR for them because their frontlining is a joke. ![]() So literally don't ever bother buying weapons for Genis and Raine it is quite without exaggeration a waste of money. (Spell power is exclusively calculated by INT stat.) Which is the dumbest shit ever. WITH THE EXCEPTION of Genis and Raine - their weapons increase STR, not INT, which means they literally don't affect the power of their spells whatsoever. ![]() Good weapons are going to make a huge ass damn difference. You have to go online to find the exact amount of stat boost per title, but in general if you are building a STR character, look for the title that gives the most STR compared to all the others, etc.ĮQUIPMENT ALSO HELLA MATTERS. You can level up all you want but if you have had shit titles the whole time you will have shit stats. Titles determine which stats are boosted upon leveling. Levels matter, but beyond that, TITLES MATTER. OOOH I SPEEDRUN THIS GAME AND HAVE PLAYED IT A THOUSAND TIMES, IT'S MY TIME TO SHINE
